Queensland’s Medicare Mental Health Centres have provided more than 130,000 free walk-in appointments, according to figures released by the Australian Government on 25 October 2026. The count is for appointments, not necessarily unique people.

The government says four new centres and upgrades to four existing services are being delivered. When complete, the number of centres in Queensland is expected to rise from 17 to 21. The Inner North Brisbane centre alone has recorded more than 10,000 appointments since opening in August 2025, the release says.

Medicare Mental Health says its centres offer free support without a referral or booking. Residents can check the official service website for a nearby centre or call 1800 595 212 for information. The centres are not crisis services; anyone needing urgent assistance should call 000 or use a crisis support service.
