The Brisbane Lions completed two separate deals on the final day of the AFL trade period, with Keidean Coleman moving to Essendon and Will McLachlan joining Melbourne, according to the league's 14 October confirmations.
In the Coleman deal, Essendon sent picks 21 and 27 to Brisbane and received Coleman and pick 25. The 26-year-old half-back had requested a move to the Bombers, the AFL reported.
Brisbane also sent forward Will McLachlan and a 2027 second-round pick to Melbourne. The Lions received pick 45 in the 2026 draft and Melbourne's 2027 second-round pick. The AFL said McLachlan, 21, had played seven senior games for Brisbane.
Both transfers were reported as approved deadline-day trades, rather than negotiations still under way. The deals change Brisbane's playing list and draft position ahead of the next draft.
