Cairns Regional Council has released its 2025–26 annual report, highlighting work on water security, housing-related infrastructure and community facilities.

In an announcement dated 14 October, the council said 92 per cent of its operational actions were either completed or progressing on schedule. This is the council's own performance measure, not an independent rating of every project.

Projects highlighted include Cairns Water Security – Stage 1, the Mount Peter Priority Development Area, and upgrades at Lake Placid, Copperlode Dam, the Red Arrow walking track and Smithfield Library. The council also reported $741,811 in Community Partnerships Grants supporting 70 local events during the financial year.

The report covers services for more than 179,000 residents and looks back over 2025–26; it is not an announcement that all listed long-term projects are finished. Residents can read the full report through the council's publications page for detailed financial and performance information.
