Cairns will host a National Police Remembrance Day service at St Monica's Cathedral from 2pm on Tuesday, 29 September, as communities across Queensland honour officers who have died.
Queensland Police Service says the annual observance recognises officers killed in the line of duty and also remembers other serving and retired officers who have passed away. National Police Remembrance Day has been marked across Australia since 1989.
Other Far North Queensland services listed by QPS include Atherton at 9am, Aurukun at 11am, Bamaga at 10am, Cooktown at 2pm, Port Douglas at 10am, Thursday Island at 10am, Tully at 2pm and Weipa at 6pm.
