India’s Union Government released an additional ₹1,09,019 crore in tax devolution to state governments on 31 October 2026, according to the Ministry of Finance. The payment is on top of the regular monthly transfer.

The ministry said this was the second additional instalment in the current financial year. It described the advance payment as support for states’ capital spending and development or welfare expenditure ahead of the festive season.

The ministry’s state-by-state table lists ₹2,176 crore for Punjab. Uttar Pradesh received ₹19,208 crore and Bihar ₹10,845 crore, the two largest amounts in the published table.

The release reports the transfer of funds; it does not specify which projects each state will finance from this instalment.
