India retained the Asian Games men's field hockey title with a 5–1 win over Malaysia in the final in Nagoya, Japan, on 3 October, according to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored twice. Jugraj Singh, Hardik Singh and Shilanand Lakra added India's other goals, the OCA reported. Malaysia had drawn level at 1–1 in the first quarter before India pulled away.

The result gave India its fifth Asian Games men's hockey gold. The OCA said the title also secured a direct place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. India's women had won their own Asian Games final against China a day earlier, making this the first Games at which both Indian hockey teams took gold.
