Queensland community organisations have until Thursday 8 October to apply for the place-based projects stream of the Indigenous Workforce and Skills Development Grant, according to the state Department of Trade, Employment and Training.

The program supports locally designed training and employment pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders. Eligible applicants must be Queensland-based organisations with experience in this work and meet the department's other criteria, including ABN, GST and operating-history requirements.

The department says applications for its separate subsidised traineeship, apprenticeship and graduate employment positions remain open until the available positions are allocated. That stream has a different closing arrangement from the place-based project applications.

Organisations should check the official eligibility guidance and submit through the state Training and Skills Program Portal. The department's page did not specify a closing hour, so applicants should not assume submissions will be accepted late in the day.
