Questions remain over the technical assessment used to support Rockhampton's Fitzroy River as a proposed rowing and canoe sprint venue for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
International sporting bodies have said the course can provide safe, fair and consistent competition under the conditions assessed. However, the full study by the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority and marine engineering firm WaterProof has not been released publicly.
Queensland ministers questioned by ABC News did not confirm that they had read the complete assessment. Rowing Queensland and Rowing Australia also said they had not seen the full report.
The site is not through every approval stage. The International Olympic Committee is yet to approve a sustainability and environmental report, while a project validation report covering design, value for money and legacy remains unfinished. The sporting bodies have also requested confirmation of several additional elements during the next planning phase.
