Parramatta has completed a dramatic 33-28 comeback against North Queensland, while Cronulla defeated St George Illawarra 16-8 in the final regular-season round of the NRLW competition.

The Eels trailed 22-6 early in the second half before scoring five tries after the break. Rachael Pearson landed a field goal late in the match and Rory Owen sealed the result with a long-range try.

Parramatta finished the season with four victories from its final five matches after losing its opening six games. The Cowboys missed the finals despite establishing a 16-point advantage during Saturday’s contest.

In the later match, the Sharks scored three second-half tries to overturn a 6-0 half-time deficit and beat the Dragons. The result gave Cronulla consecutive wins and left St George Illawarra at the bottom of the ladder.
