India and Brazil have reaffirmed their goal of lifting bilateral trade to US$30 billion by 2030 following trade talks in Brasília, India’s commerce ministry said in a release on 31 August.

The eighth Trade Monitoring Mechanism meeting was co-chaired by Indian Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal and Brazilian foreign trade secretary Tatiana Lacerda Prazeres.

The ministry reported bilateral trade of US$15.07 billion in 2025–26. Discussions covered diversifying trade, pharmaceutical market access and work towards terms of reference for expanding the India–MERCOSUR trade relationship.

The US$30 billion figure is a shared target, not a completed trade result.
