India have won a record-extending eighth Women's Asia Cup title after defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final in Dubai.
India posted 183 for five after winning the toss. Openers Shafali Verma scored 68 and Smriti Mandhana made 59 before Sri Lanka were dismissed for 111 in 20 overs.
The victory came in India's 10th consecutive appearance in the tournament final and reversed the result of the 2024 decider, which Sri Lanka won.
The post-match presentation was delayed and ended without the Indian team collecting its medals or the trophy from Asian Cricket Council chair Mohsin Naqvi, who is also Pakistan's interior minister and Pakistan Cricket Board chair. Associated Press reported that the team conducted its own medal presentation.
